I'm sitting here on Jude's couch in Wellington eating a jelly-tip ice cream (apparently a very kiwi dessert popsicle-type thing). Glorious. I'll be staying overnight here before heading to the Wellington airport tomorrow morning at 7. I'm so excited for this weekend! We're flying out on 8:30 and 9:30 flights - I'm on the 8:30 so I'll be in Auckland by 9:30am tomorrow, and the other half of the choir will be in there by 10:30, but our first rehearsal isn't until 6:30pm so we pretty much have the whole day to hang out and get to know each other, shop, hang out, explore, etc. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone a bit better, and I've been hanging out with a few girls from the choir (Jude, Julia) recently, so it will be super fun to spend the weekend with them in Auckland, hopefully as roommates at the backpackers' where we're staying. We're looking at getting a 6-person room to accommodate our group (me, Jude, Julia, Imogen, Felicity, and one more person T.B.A.) - we're getting there on the early flight so we should be able to get pretty much whichever room we want. Woo!
I'll be sure to post lots of pictures when I get back (and Karyn, I will send you a picture of you-know-who.... don't worry mom, it's nothing.... haha). Unfortunately I think I may have fried my video camera during HVHS Music Festival, so the memories this weekend will be documented in digital camera form only (and in my mind, of course!). I have SO many pictures already, and I'm barely halfway through my time here - the thought of scrapbooking when I get home is already overwhelming. Haha. Debbie, you'll have to help me out with your creative talents - it would also give us an excuse to get together and catch up!
I'm so distracted right now - Jude and I are watching a silly show called "The Nightmares Next Door" and it's so ridiculous, and there's a very good chance that this blog post is rambling or incoherent because I'm not paying attention to what I'm writing. So, with that I will leave you to ponder the following "Deep Thought" by Jack Handey:
If you saw two guys named Hambone and Flippy, which one would you think liked dolphins the most? I'd say Flippy, wouldn't you? You'd be wrong, though. It's Hambone.

EVERYONE knows its Hambone. How silly.
