Off I go for a 2-week tour of New Zealand's beautiful and scenic south island with the Kiwi Experience bus tours. Here's the challenge:
You (yes, I mean you!) will leave me comments about anything that you want to see a picture of on my blog, and I will do my best to take a picture of it on the south island. It could be anything - a specific landmark, a funny road sign, a man wearing ugly short shorts, a mullet, a NZ symbol, anything. Be creative - it will make my picture-taking interesting!
I'm leaving in about 20 minutes, and will likely have sporadic access to the Internet while I'm gone, but if the blog posts dwindle and you don't hear from me for a while, don't fear. I'm with Fiona, adding another mark on the list of fantastic kiwi adventures..... or should I say Kiwi Experiences!

Take a picture of the sunrise over the ocean in Kaikura...being one of the first people in the world to see the new day as the sun rises over the international date line. Its so awe-inspiring to look across the ocean, thinking the next piece of land out there is South America. When you see the White Morph Restaurant, that is where dad had a $100 crayfish dinner worth every penny to him.
Take a picture of a road sign showing that there are curves ahead (for the next 3 hours) and think of flat, straight roads in Saskatchewan. Also take a gravol.
Take a picture when you enter Queen Charlotte Sound en route to Picton after crossing Cook Straight. It is one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Be sure to take a picture of your feet in both the Pacific Ocean and the Tasmen Sea, depending what side of the south island you are on.
Take a picture of a calla lilly for Karyn.
Take a sunset sillouette of Fiona for Sam.
Take a picture in Picton for Debbie McLeod (Gord's Debbie)because her mom and dad lived there for a while.
Take a picture of Fiona and her sister if you end up in Blenheim.
Take a picture of Lori's friend in Picton if you still have her name.
Take a picture of a New Zealand flag for your photo album.
That should keep you busy!
Have tons of fun! Keep in touch as best you can through blogs, text messages, etc.
Correction - I think Lori's friend lives in Blenheim,
Not quite sure what your itinerary is, but try and take a photo of yourself and fish in front of the Cadbury chocolate factory in Dunedin - or perhaps in it, scoffing chocolate!
Also the both of you looking lost at "Wong Way" in Te Anau.
Have a brilliant time!! :)

Follow up to my facebook comment: Someone running away from and being chased by a DEADLY snake would be better than just a regular snake....but it can't be you either..,hopefully you have forged some enemies on the road trip.
Have a great trip to the south island Lauren!
