Words of advice

If you have any important files on a USB flash drive, please go back them up on a hard drive somewhere now. Take it from the experience of someone who may have just lost 3 months worth of lesson plans, unit plans, reflections, and a bunch of photos because of a seemingly corrupted USB flash drive.

Crap.

Does Hutt Valley High School have a computer technician? Ask that person a.s.a.p. I sure hope they can help! I will ask dad to check it out also. Have you tried plugging it in to a different computer?

Check your e-mail for further information I've found on the internet. I also sent a memo to our Ed Centre Computer Technical Department. Hopefully we will find a solution.

Hi Lauren - That problems with your USB may be reversible if you wree to take it to a professional computer service depot, or as mom says, check with the HVHS IT support if they have such a section. There is software which claims to be designed to recover USB data from disabled devices, and it is also possible to recover data from a crashed hazd drive, so all is not necessarily lost. I know it's a downer when you first have trouble with your files, but there is usually a solution out there - it just takes someone a lot smarter than me to figure it out. Love you, and we'll keep in touch. Let us know on an e-mail how things are going, and don't get rid of your Pen drive under any circumstances, someone may have an idea where others have failed. Hope things work out for you in the near future so you can get back to what you're doing without the added burden of worrying about this.
